After a quite quiet hiatus, Easytiiger proudly presents a new EP by Cacos, entitled Speeches.
"Speeches" is all about history, wisdom, purpose, and finding a safe connection between all these things in real life.
In his own words: "there are some things you listen in life, that get stuck in your head. That knowledge. Some phrases stick with you, sometimes you remember parts of them or just the general idea or the whole thing.
The first time I saw TBM's RBMA lecture, she was talking about her early days and how she transformed discredit into strength - that’s real wisdom there.
Patti Smith talking about what is freedom for her, that's ancestral knowledge there. Antonio Abujamra reciting Goethe, that’s history.
And as I was listening to these pieces of the most valuable information through different times of my life, I realized how all of this is stuck with me.
One day in the studio, I was messing around in Ableton Live, making loops, I decided to take that TBM lecture and put it over this loop that was there. It worked so smoothly, and I remembered about these other powerful speeches in my head and somehow making music to structure them.
That’s where Speeches came from."
Opener "TBM" is a late-night techno punch, chopped with speech samples & wise words from a beloved woman. The words lead the way through an immense moment when the truth can only be a smile. "PS" giggles in a soft mode, more downtempo, designed to be an acid warm-up and beyond. Closing the EP, "AA" brings Mefisto & Fausto to the talk and calls itself a real reason for the question.
Percussion-guide, dark lines, acid & dubby moments.
Cerebral and self-explained.
